New Era 59Fifty produces team-branded hats licensed for the famous overseas leagues that everyone has heard of – MLB, NFL and NBA. It all started in 1934, when the first official hat was created for the MLB team, the Cleveland Indians. Since then, New Era has fought off the biggest competition and now shares the official production for MLB with the Sport Specialties brand. Together they carry the “Diamond Collection” label.
New Era wasn’t afraid to do this and experimented with different materials for their caps, such as nylon and wool, before finally settling on polyester.
